Why the All-Local Coupon Book

Buffalo First is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting our local economy and our independent business community. Our main goal is to encourage Buffalo area residents to:

1. "Think Local" when they are considering where to make purchases.
2. "Buy Local" whenever possible.
3. "Be Local" by working together to build a stronger, healthier community.

By using this book for your next fundraiser, you will help Buffalo grow!

1. More money re-circulates in the Buffalo area. Local businesses often spend their money locally, allowing for these dollars to stay within the Buffalo area.

2. Non-profits receive greater support. Nonprofit organizations receive an average of 350% greater support from local business owners than they do from non-locally owned businesses.

3. Local business owners invest in community. Local businesses are owned by people who live in this community, are less likely to leave, and are more invested in the community's future.

4. Reduced environmental impact. Locally owned businesses can make more local purchases requiring less transportation and generally set up shop in town or city centers as opposed to developing on the fringe. This generally means contributing to less sprawl, congestion, habitat loss and pollution.

5. Customer service is better. Local businesses often hire people with more specific product expertise for better customer service.

Buffalo First's 2010 All-Local Coupon Book exists to support our local, independent businesses in WNY. Each page has valuable information and resources that work to educate our community members on the importance of shopping locally.
