Why I do what I do ...

After 18 years in insurance (at the "ripe old age" of 35), I decided I needed a change--to what I wasn't sure, but sitting behind a desk was beginning to take its toll.

About the same time, I received a gift certificate to a local day spa which I used for a facial. I knew right then what I wanted to do with my life.

I quit my "9 to 5" and went back to school full-time to become an esthetician. I worked for more than two years at a Hamburg day spa where I acquired a loyal following of some terrific customers. It was then time to open my own spa. In November, 2005 Tracy's Retreat opened for business.

Since then, my business has flourished. It was truly the best decision I have ever made. I've learned that you are never too old to follow your dreams, and it is always better to try and fail than to regret not trying at all.
